    \nInstructors of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and Automotive Technology (AT) programs are participating in Project GOALS which is a study of the benefits of integrating into a technician curriculum some activities to develop students’ employability skills. These skills include communication and teamwork, and mindsets like openness to lifelong learning, adapting to workplace expectations, and understanding business fundamentals. Such skills and mindsets are in high demand from employers and will help technicians excel in the workplace. The National Science Foundation has funded SRI International, a nonprofit research center in Menlo Park, CA, to collaborate with the AMT faculty around this study. This will involve you in learning and reflection activities both in class and possibly during an internship if applicable to develop your employability skills. To support your instructors, SRI researchers will analyze the results from the classroom employability skills reflection activities. This analysis will provide important information to help your instructors make decisions about what activities to provide to support your class.
